99% of helmets worldwide are made of plastics. Top certifications test at speeds under 30 km/h. At higher speeds, only composites save; plastics fail.
Composite fiber helmets use multi-axial fibers to dissipate force across the shell, reducing the impact felt. These helmets are ultra-light and super strong. Less than 1% of helmets are composites due to the scalability and profitability of plastic injection molding.
At Tiivra, we refuse to do the more profitable, scaleable, mass-produced plastic helmets. We have been stubborn to make only composite fiber helmets that far exceed certification standards.
