Why do our helmets cost 10k+?

Plastic helmets are cheap to make. They have low rejection rates as injection moulding gives you the same product each time. Composite fiber is a complex production process. Humidity, curing times, resin content, lay up matrix, and fiber content - all play a significant role. Additionally, the surface does not come out smooth like plastic. It needs finishing to keep the perfect balance between smoothing the fivers, and not adding too much weight while filling the putty.

The workers need to be highly skilled and the number of helmet shells per mould as 4-5 per day. Injection moulds spit out lakhs per day.

These cheap plastic helmets - after a significant manufacturer margin and 30-40% retail margins, retail between 5k-9k.

We are among the lowest priced composite fiber helmets in the world. We have squeezed our margins to keep the price point approachable. And that is also why we have limited retail presence - as we are passing on that margin to the consumer rather than retailer.

What makes Tiivra helmets unique?

At 1350 gms, Tiivra helmets are both lightweight and high performance, since they are made of composite fiber. Typically the shell and EPS add to the weight of a helmet. Plastic helmets have a thicker, heavier shell and a low density EPS (less than 40 kg/m³) - offering minimum protection. What adds to our weight is a high-density EPS. Higher the density, greater the shock absorption

Why choose composite fiber?

Plastic caves in at the point of impact, leading to serious head injuries. Composite fiber dissipates impact across the shell saving the brain and its container. Composites have becom the 'gold' standard for performance at the highest level- be it F1, MotoGP, space tech or missiles. Apart from being able to withstand higher impact, composite fiber is also lighter than plastic, making it the obvious choice for pros and for Tiivra.

What certifications does the helmet have?

All Tiivra helmets have ISI and DOT certifications. We missed the boat on ECE 22.05 as applications closed 3rd July 2022. However, we exceed ECE standards by 70% in impact testing. Check out the lab results here.

Can I use my comms system with your helmet?

The helmet has universal Bluetooth pockets that fit any comm system speakers

Do your products have warranty?

All helmets come with a 1 year warranty from date of delivery provided no modifications are made to the helmet. The warranty does not cover any plastic parts, paints or decals, or internal liners. However, these will be available for sale on the website. Read more about our warranty policy here.

I recently purchased the Tiivra T1 Asphalt Grey helmet and
couldn't be more satisfied with my choice. Weighing
approximately 1,350 grams, this composite fiber helmet is
impressively lightweight, reducing strain during long rides.

Value for money

It’s been 2 months i had the Kalista polar white and have ridden about 500 kms and enjoying it.
I choose the white colour primarily for visibility and the rear reflective spoiler compliments it as well. It is snug fit thanks to the detailed information /video of tiivra size guide . It is composite fibre helmet.. and well priced..
The ventilation is good.
The view from inside the helmet is good.
The D-ring lock adds to safety.

It is a bit big in size compared to my earlier axor Rage carbon helmet.

However the weight is less for its size.. same as my present axor.

At high speeds it is planted.. on your head.. no wobbling.. as well less wind noise.

The helmet arrived well protected in an appealing package. Thanks to Tiivra team for the follow up ..right from order till delivery
